Dr. Islam Kassem is one of Egypt's most credentialed oral and maxillofacial clinicians, holding a remarkable breadth of international qualifications: MFDS RCSEd, MOMS RCPS Glasgow, FDS RCSEd, FDS RCPS Glasgow, the FFG Dent London qualification, the American Board of Laser Dentistry, and an Implant Diploma from the University of Naples, among others.
He serves as an Examiner at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, Head of the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at Alamein Hospital, and is the Founder of IMAXFAX Center.
His involvement in the FPaed Training Program brings a genuinely multidisciplinary perspective to pediatric education — one that very few programs can offer. Dr. Islam's contribution focuses on surgical thinking, advanced patient management, and helping trainees understand when and how complex pediatric cases require input from maxillofacial and surgical specialists.
