FPaed Training Program

Most training programs teach you what to do. Fewer teach you how to think.

The FPaed Training Program was built around a simple but demanding premise: that becoming a skilled pediatric dentist takes real time, real patients, and real accountability. Not a weekend course. Not a certificate you hang on the wall after a few hours.

This is a 3-year clinical pathway — six semesters, three training days a week — developed in partnership between Perfect Braces Academy and Dr. Ibrahim Mansour, Pediatric Dentistry Examiner at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. The program covers the full spectrum of pediatric dentistry: from behavior management and pulp therapy all the way to General Anesthesia cases, cleft lip and palate workflows through Smile Train Organization, and interdisciplinary treatment planning with specialized teams.

Trainees see over 300 real pediatric cases during the program. Each one is supervised. Each one is documented. Each one is discussed. You don't just watch — you treat, and you're held to a standard.

The academic side is just as serious. Weekly lectures, Journal Club from day one, monthly mock exams, fellowship preparation for Part A and Part B — and a research methodology track for those aiming at international applications. Every trainee also gets their own dedicated clinical unit, instruments, materials, and nursing support. That's not common.

What makes this program different isn't the list of topics it covers. It's the depth of supervision, the honesty of the assessment system, and the fact that Dr. Ibrahim Mansour evaluates every trainee personally, every three months.

If you're serious about pediatric dentistry, this is where that journey begins properly.

FPaed Training Program

What sets this program apart:

  • Supervised by Dr. Ibrahim Mansour — Pediatric Dentistry Examiner at RCSEd, and one of Egypt's first FPaed holders from a first attempt
  • Clinical exposure to 300+ real pediatric cases — not simulations
  • Each trainee has their own dedicated clinical unit, instruments, materials, and nursing support
  • Structured General Anesthesia training: 25 cases as assistant doctor, 5 cases as primary operator
  • Accredited cleft lip and palate exposure through Smile Train Organization
  • Weekly lectures covering the full scope of Pediatric Dentistry — from pulp therapy to special needs patients
  • Journal Club from the very first week — because clinical thinking starts early
  • Monthly mock exams and end-of-term assessments with a real pass/fail standard
  • Performance reviewed personally by Dr. Ibrahim Mansour every 3 months
  • Fellowship Pathway support for Part A and Part B — with recommendation letters for eligible trainees
  • Interdisciplinary case exposure: pedo-ortho, restorative, prosthetic, and pediatric surgery workflows
  • Research methodology training and clinical research preparation for international applications
  • Lifetime access to recorded lectures through the academy website
  • Bonus courses included: Modern Endodontics, Composite, and Dental Photography
  • Small group format — because good supervision doesn't scale past a certain number

FPaed Training Program

By the time a trainee completes this program, they should be able to:

  • Walk into any pediatric case with a structured diagnosis, a clear treatment plan, and the clinical confidence to execute it
  • Manage behavior in children across all age groups — including anxious, uncooperative, and special needs patients
  • Handle the full scope of pediatric clinical work: pulp therapy, space management, trauma, restorations, and more
  • Participate in General Anesthesia cases as both assistant doctor and primary operator
  • Think in an interdisciplinary way — understanding when and how to involve other specialties in pediatric care
  • Read and apply current evidence — not just follow protocols, but understand why they exist
  • Prepare academically for FPaed Part A and Part B examinations with realistic confidence
  • Conduct and present clinical research to the standard required for international academic applications
  • Run a pediatric clinical workflow professionally — from patient reception to long-term follow-up
  • Represent the standard that pediatric dentistry in Egypt should be held to
